BUYING IN SPAIN, ITALY:A DEVELOPMENT ON Lake Maggiore, the second largest lake in Italy, and another near Puerto Banus on the Costa del Sol are for sale through agent Pure International.
Sean Collins, CEO of Pure, believes that despite the crash in Spanish property prices, the Costa will be a hot spot in 2008. He believes that a market hit by overdevelopment and the destruction of illegally built properties will improve by the end of the year.
Pure is selling two-bedroom townhouses in Kempinski Residences, Monte Mayor from €520,000. There are also 250 individual two-acre plots which people can buy to build individual villas. There is a golf course and a nature reserve in the Monte Mayor resort as well as "five-star concierge services".
Meanwhile the agent is also selling one to three-bedroom apartments costing from €190,000 in Golfo Gabella, Lake Maggiore, northern Italy.
There are 90 units in the lakefront development, which includes a gym and swimming pool and a rental management team. Private moorings are available to all purchasers.
Ski resorts in the Usern Valley, such as Andermatt, are an hour's drive away, and there is local skiing within 15 minutes' drive, according to the agent.
Pure claims that rental yields and capital appreciation is greater than in other parts of Italy, partly because of the area's year round facilities.
