ONE of the most unusual properties to come on the market for some time is Malahide Nurseries, at Mabestown, Malahide, Co Dublin, which is expected to make in excess of £300,000 when it is sold by tender through Gunne's Fairview office. The garden centre is one of the most successful in the greater Dublin area and won a Bord Glas National Garden Centre award for 1994 and 1995. It had a turnover of £517,000 in 1995 from more than 43,000 paying customers. The garden centre stands on a site of 1.77 acres directly opposite Malahide Castle. It includes a modern, purpose-built block with timber cladding and a thatched roof. The single-storey building includes a tastefully-planted courtyard with many rare shrubs, a shop with offices, lavatories and a kitchen.
