Miglio jewellery is well-known in South Africa, where it was founded by designers Mike and Jenny Miller in 1996. It’s chunky and striking and makes use of crystal, freshwater pearls and semi-precious gemstones at prices that range from about €25 upwards. Sold through independent consultants rather than through shops, it has 6,000 consultants in South Africa, and the idea has spread to the UK and Ireland.

Their spring collection, called Batik, was based around a blue theme, with blue Swarovski crystal and turquoise, while their latest, just launched this month, is called Gypsy Rose. The new range is more whimsical and romantic in character and made from burnished silver chains, embossed flower charms, faceted beads and crystal drops.

The collection includes earrings (mostly for pierced ears), pendants, necklaces and “enhancers” that can be added to the necklaces. View their website at www.miglio.com or contact Noelle de Barra on 087-6426456 and Kate Henry on 087-2695108 to purchase.
