Surf style in Waterford

While the Bunbury family pioneered Irish hand-produced chopping boards using windfall trees from their own forest – bunburyboards.com – there are now legions of other woodworkers churning out variations.

For something different, check out Little Hill Design in Waterford, where brothers Ronan and Ultan O'Brien created their Surf and Turf board exclusively for a surf shop in Tramore. Demand has now ensured it is more widely available now. The mini-surfboard is made from Irish beech, ash or oak, with thin strips of walnut or dark American timbers, depending on what offcuts are in the workshop.
