Snoop Dogg to publish his first cookbook, From Crook to Cook

Rapper’s 50 recipes to include lobster, waffles and ‘snacks to satisfy those munchies’

Snoop Dogg is to publish his first cookbook, From Crook to Cook: Platinum Recipes from Tha Boss Dogg's Kitchen. The rapper, who has presented a weekly television show with the American lifestyle guru Martha Stewart since 2016, will share 50 recipes for everything from lobster thermidor and filet mignon to chicken and waffles, baby back ribs, and mac and cheese.

On Martha & Snoop's Potluck Dinner Party, on VH1, the polar opposites sit at the head of the table, each putting personal spins on dishes for themed meals. Guests on the half-baked evenings of cocktails, cooking and conversation have included Seth Rogen, Wiz Khalifa, Ashley Graham, Jason Derulo, 50 Cent and Robin Thicke. The hosts were jointly nominated for an Emmy in 2017.

Chronicle Books, which will publish the cookbook in October, promises "snacks to satisfy those munchies", alluding to the rapper's fabled marijuana habit, but assures readers that the recipes are "cannabis-free". (It also says it plans to launch a line of cannabis-themed books with the star in 2020.)

Snoop Dogg is best known for a music career stretching back to 1992. He was part of the gangsta-rap scene in Los Angeles, and has stayed abreast of musical trends since, collaborating with Derulo and Katy Perry, among others. His other extracurricular activities range from coaching youth football to directing pornographic films.
