Irish in North America: Have you been hit by the ‘polar vortex’?

A blast of Arctic air is moving across the United States and Canada, bringing record-breaking temperatures as low as -48°C in parts of the Midwest and East. In some areas, schools have closed, postal services have been halted, and residents have been advised to stay indoors until the polar vortex passes.
