It's that time of year again, when dozens of lovely girls from around the world gather at the Festival Dome in Tralee in Co Kerry to battle out for the Rose of Tralee crown.
Just 10 of this year's 32 Roses are representing places in Ireland; nine are from the US, six from Australia, two from the UK and one each from Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Germany, New Zealand and Canada. Many of the international Roses are first-generation Irish - Ronan McGreevy found out more about why they emigrated and their reasons for entering the competition.
