Pop culture's first mega star Marilyn Monroe adds a sprinkling of pixie dust to this year's Horse Show Ball, being held at the Four Seasons next Friday, August 8th, in aid of the Jack and Jill Foundation. A vintage Life magazine cover, featuring her on the set of Some Like It Hot and autographed by the actress, just under the publication's masthead, will be the auction's top lot. Monroe's signature is a popular tattoo choice and turns ordinary vintage into gilded memorabilia. The starting bid on this item is €1,200. All proceeds raised go to the Jack & Jill Children's Foundation and the Injured Riders' Fund supporting those who have been injured in pursuit of their sport. Tickets cost €150 and can be bought online or call 045-894 538. jackandjill.ie
