If you think about it, the Irish are the natural heirs to a particularly Scandinavian kind of cool. Our countries jut out into harsh and unforgiving waters, our crime dramas represent the best of our televisual output and we each have our own idiosyncratic jumper styles.

has opened its first stand-alone shop in Ireland, on Dublin’s Wicklow Street. The store’s fresh and minimal interior matches the clothing: well-designed and well-considered. It’s also well-in-pocket for women and men who aspire to dress in

Jil Sander

and look a little like Tilda Swinton without cracking the credit card.

The spring-summer drop is a mish-mash of soft, grown-up pastels and lines so clean you could use them in trigonometry class. Favourites include a pink asymmetrical vest, men’s mohair trousers, a utilitarian shirt dress with handy-dandy pockets and a shimmering, dirty-lemon-coloured coat.
