Ethiad Airways timeless new uniforms

The new uniforms for cabin crew by Etihad Airways drew their palette and hat shapes from the contours and colours of the desert coinciding with the launch of the airline's first Airbus A380 and Boeing 787 aircraft. Designed by Milan-based couturier Ettore Bilotta, whose brief was "timeless sophistication", the new livery does away with the white veil, which many cabin crew members found irritating. An unusual feature of the new look is a purple stripe running down the front and back of cabin crew skirts. The most striking and arguably the most stylish of the designs are those for the airline's butlers – chocolate brown cutaway tails with ivory waistcoats, trousers and gloves. It would be sensational livery for any airline, but is restricted to the butlers in Etihad's luxury "Residence" on the upper deck , a self-contained "apartment" with living room, shower room and bedroom described as "a private jet experience on a commercial aircraft".
