Skinceuticals Resveratrol BE €140 I have mentioned this serum before, and that's because it is one of my all-time favourites. It glides on, sinks in easily and really does seem to work from the very first use. It's pricey, but anyone I have recommended it to has loved it. You're paying for the highest level of resveratrol available in over-the-counter skincare, combined with other antioxidants. Another plus: it lasts for ages.
Sunday Riley Bionic Anti-Aging Cream €98 Sunday Riley skincare costs an arm and a leg, but the products that I have used, particularly the oils, are wonderful. This moisturiser contains resveratrol along with retinol and other antioxidants to help skin repair itself. Due to the retinol content, keep this for night-time use: retinol makes skin extremely sun-sensitive, which I have found out to my peril.
Caudalie Vinosource Overnight Recovery Oil €28 Caudalie is crazy about grape-based skincare. It has patented its version of resveratrol and has a whole range based around this ingredient, including serums and moisturisers for different skin types and ages. This mix of six oils is lovely for night-time use; mix it with your moisturiser if you have dry skin in order to hydrate more fully.
Bobbi Brown Intensive skin Supplement €59 A lovely product that feels soothing and hydrating. It has a good mix of antioxidants, together with grape oil, which work to keep skin happy and healthy. A trial size (€21) is also available to buy, which I always love to see – it means you don't have to part with a big chunk of cash before finding whether you do or do not like a product.
Olay Regenerist 3 Point Super Firming Serum €40 This serum provides good mix of antioxidants plus cell-communicating ingredients (these encourage collagen production and help to keep skin healthy). It's suitable for all skin types, even sensitive, but it will work best for those whose skin is oily or combination. It is good under make-up, too, which is always a huge plus and makes it a solid choice for daytime use.
AISLING LOVES . . .
Paula’s Choice Resist Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum €35
A solid choice for normal to oily and combination skin. It is lightweight and doesn’t feel sticky, making it ideal for daytime use. If enlarged pores are a bugbear, this serum can make them appear smaller and can make skin appear smoother. That’s because the resveratrol (which is high up the list of ingredients) is combined with other antioxidants such as vitamin C and niacinamide. Another good thing about this serum: you can buy a trial size from paulaschoice-eu.com for €7.20.
