A selection of vintage luggage, going under the hammer in Christie’s annual Ski Sale in London, evokes an era of luxury travel to the Swiss Alps.

Among the highlights is this Louis Vuitton leather-and-brass-bound canvas shoe trunk with a hinged lid and front opening panel revealing 30 individual shoe-storage drawers.
