A Irishman has died after he fell from the balcony of a hotel in Thailand.
The man (67) is reported to have fallen from the 31st floor of the hotel in the popular holiday destination of Pattaya.
The Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed it is providing consular assistance.
“The Department of Foreign Affairs is aware of the death and is providing consular assistance. As with all consular cases, the department does not comment on the details of any specific case.”

According to a local report of the death, police were notified of the incident just after 5am local time.
The Pattaya News said emergency services rushed to the five star hotel. The man’s body was removed from the scene, which had been cordoned off by hotel security, and brought to Banglamung Hospital.
Authorities are reported to be awaiting CCTV footage to investigate the circumstances of the death.
