A man in his 60s was killed and a 10-year-old boy has been seriously injured in separate road traffic incidents in Co Offaly and Co Clare.
On Monday, gardaí and emergency services were alerted to a single-car crash shortly after 8.50am on the L2015 at New Road in Clara, Co Offaly.
The driver of the car, a male aged in his aged in his 60s, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The coroner has been notified and a postmortem examination will be arranged. Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

The incident occurred shortly after 2pm in Purcell Park, Shannon, involving a van and a 10-year-old male pedestrian.
The child was transported to University Hospital Limerick to receive treatment for serious injuries and has since been transferred to Children’s Health Ireland at Temple Street, Dublin.
A man in his 20s who was arrested in connection with the incident has since been released pending further investigations.
A forensic examination at the scene has been completed and local traffic diversions have been lifted.
Gardaí are appealing to any witnesses to come forward, or any road users with camera footage, including dashcam, who were travelling in the Purcell Park area between 1.45pm and 2.30pm on Sunday.
