Pony Panto

Comedy dance theatre company Ponydance presents its twist on pantomime at the Project Arts Centre in Temple Bar, Dublin 2, together with a live band that includes renowned musicians from Belfast.

Eimear Quinn in concert

The singer and 1996 Eurovision winner returns to Pavillion Theatre in Dun Laoghaire, Dublin, after three consecutive sell-out holiday concerts. Quinn will perform Christmas songs and carols together with the Mamisa String Quartet, which features Maria and Michelle Mason.

Film Fatale Vintage Christmas Party

An event that calls for a vintage dress code is sure to be a blast. The Sugar Club in Dublin 2 will screen the classic 1954 film White Christmas, with the after party taking over at 11pm. The party features Film Fatale dancers, live music from Katie D and The Rhythm Section, Film Fatale’s house DJs, and renowned vintage music specialists The Andrews Sisters’ Brothers.

Young Dublin Symphonia lunchtime concert

The acclaimed string ensemble with members from across North Dublin will perform works by composers including Handel and Vivaldi at Christ Church Cathedral in Dublin 8.

Saturday 1.15-2.15pm. Admission included in cost of entry to cathedral, which starts at €2.

Qigong on the Rooftop

Pick up the traditional Chinese form of meditation, which combines slow flowing movement and deep rhythmic breathing, at the outdoor rooftop garden of the Chester Beatty Library, Dublin 2.

Saturday, 2.30-3.00pm. Free admission with no booking required, but limited to 15 participants.

Discotekken On Ice

Experience the best of roller disco on ice at the Point Village, Dublin 1, with 70s and 80s disco music provided by DJs including Louis Scully from the RnB Club, and The Third Policeman, Chris O’Donohoe and Luke B, all from Discotekken. The Sugar Club will host the after party. Skates will be provided, and all ticket holders will receive a € 25 code for UBER Taxi.

Mooney Tunes Christmas Special

The show, which will take place at Bord Gais Energy Theatre, will feature the best of Irish entertainment, with RTÉ broadcaster Derek Mooney, the RTÉ Concert Orchestra and musicians including Jack L, Rebecca Storm and Camille O'Sullivan. This year's programme was chosen from suggestions from RTÉ Radio 1's Mooney listeners.

Bolshoi Ballet Live: The Nutcracker

Watch the famous Bolshoi Ballet perform live from Moscow via satellite at the Lighthouse Cinema. The ballet, based on ETA Hoffmann’s story and brought to life through the iconic music by Tchaikovsky, is interpreted in this choreographic version created for the Bolshoi by Yuri Grigorovich.

Dublin Mountain Walk

Take a 16km, 5 hour hike up the Dublin Mountains, up onto Fairy Castle, over Tibradden and Larch Hill with experienced volunteer rangers at Marlay Park, Rathfarnham, Dublin 16.

Outside Dublin

The Nualas: The Great Big Shiny Show

Musical comedy trio the Nualas take a dig at social issues and perform self-penned original songs such as “Stay-at-home dad”, “Bollox to Love”, and “Jesus, Mary and Joseph, Why Am I So Fat” at the Wexford Opera House.

Swan Lake

The Ballet Ireland bring their national tour of Swan Lake to the Source Arts Centre in Thurles, Co Tipperary.

Winter Solstice Shamanic Workshop

Take part in events including a Druid ceremony on the hill of Tara, a fire ceremony and a trance dance at Dunderry Park, Trim, Co Meath. The workshop, facilitated by shamanic practitioner Martin Duffy, celebrates the astronomical event of the solstices, which, together with the equinoxes, are strongly associated with the four seasons.
