Approximately 250 lots of furniture and fine art come up for auction next Wednesday at Hamilton Osborne King's rooms in Blackrock, Dublin. Likely to excite particular interest is an elegant suite of Regency-style, bleached mahogany furniture, made in the early years of this century at High Wycombe. For the sale, this has been divided into a set of eight chairs (£1,000-£1,500), a sideboard (£600-£800), a standing corner cabinet (£400-£600) and a two-pillar dining table (£600-£800). Other notable items of furniture include an Irish mahogany blanket chest, circa 1900 (£800-£1,400), a late 19th century walnut and marquetry oval centre table (£600-£800) and a mid-19th century mahogany, rectangular dining table (£1,000-£1,500). There are a number of non-furniture lots, such as a fourpiece tea and coffee set from Birmingham, 1947 (£600-£800), a quantity of 19th century Masons part-ironstone china plates (£200-£300) and an Austrian art deco part tea-set (£100-£200).
