Wild Beasts, music trail and more announced for Cork festival

Sounds from a Safe Harbour will also put guests on the water for an all-at-sea performance


Sounds from a Safe Harbour has announced several new additions to the Cork festival. English indie-rock band Wild Beasts will close the festival on September 20th.

A new music trail, curated by Nialler9, will include Irish artists such as Slow Skies, I Am The Cosmos, Somerville, Bantum, Talos, Shookrah and Conor Walsh.

Dylan Haskins and Lisa Hannigan will host Dessner siblings Bryce, Aaron and Jessica to Port of Cork's iconic Bonded Warehouse for Soundings from a Safe Harbour, a combination of conversation and performance. The festival is curated by Bryce Dessner.

The festival also takes to the water with Sail to Sirius, with 40 guests sailing out of Cork to head for Cobh. Landless will perform en route, followed by a double bill with Rainwear and Nad Spiro at Sirius Arts Centre .

The bill also includes performances by The Gloaming, Aaron Dessner and Lisa Hannigan, Arcade Fire's Richard Reed Parry and the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra.
