Rock fans, and particularly heavy metal fans have been left disappointed after Lord Henry Mountcharles confirmed there will be no concert in Slane this year.

Lord Henry took to social media to break the news to fans that “there will be no show at Slane this year. Slane will return in 2017 when the Slane Distillery is completed.”

The Co Meath venue hosted the Foo Fighters last year. Fans had been hopingAC/DC would headline this year.

Lord Henry confirmed that next year there would be a new restaurant. There has not been a restaurant there since Slane Castle was gutted by fire in 1991. The distillery, currently under construction, will also open on the castle grounds next year.
