Track of the week
Calvin Harris - My Way
Before you get all excited, this isn't a cut from a hypothetical EDM Sinatra tribute album (possible title: Bangers by Blue Eyes?). Instead it's a tropical house number from Calvin. On first listen, it's sounds more deep cut than single – there's none of the flash and bang of Harris' earlier work. But the lyrics are intriguing (are they a reference to ex Taylor Swift?) and the subtle beat will nudge this track into your October on repeat playlist.
Hero of the week
is Ellie Goulding, who
[ spoke up about her mental health problems with Stylist magazineOpens in new window ]
. She opened up about panic attacks, explaining “I’d have panic attacks and, to me, they felt like I was dying of a heart attack. It’s a very hot, burning feeling, like your heart is racing uncontrollably which is extra scary for me because I actually have a heart defect.”
She went on: “When I think back to my tiredness, my slump, not wanting to exercise and not being interested in anything. It wasn’t depression, it was just my body giving up. Too many people are quiet about mental health. When you feel anxiety, it’s a very lonely feeling. It makes you feel like you’re the only person in the world feeling that way.”
A lil 5SOS update for you, via Michael 5SOS. He emailed fans, laying out the plan for the next few months. "This year has been an incredible one for us, and although it's not over yet we're looking forward to doing another tour again after we take some time off and write a new album. It's going to be a real opportunity to grow more as people and learn more about ourselves/the world."
Zero of the week is former Bushmills brand ambassador Bon Iver, who slammed Beyoncé for taking Pepsi sponsorship. He told the Guardian: "You have to believe in something. Like, I'd prefer Beyoncé didn't do a Pepsi tour. Do not take $2 million from Pepsi and be a role model for young girls. Do not do that." He went on, That stuff does anger me. And I feel like I am not afraid to talk about that stuff."
