Nina Nesbitt: Peroxide

It's all happening for this Scottish/ Swedish songwriter, who is this year's hybrid mainstream success, judging by the amount of plaudits for last year's four-track EP ( Stay Out ) and her version of Fleetwood Mac's Don't Stop for a UK high street store. Nesbitt's debut album isn't half as bad as you might suspect. But if she wants to carve out a decent and distinctive career in the many years ahead (she's only 19), then she'll have to discard the obvious current influences of Taylor Swift and KT Tunstall, each of whom hover over Peroxide like equal parts clear sky and foreboding cloud. That said, with Ed Sheeran and One Direction producer Jake Gosling and Jake Bugg co-writer Iain Archer on board, Peroxide is nothing if not a Topshop-friendly commercial.
