These are busy times for this particular member of the Wu-Tang Clan. Following hot on the heels of the Wu's A Better Tomorrow hollerback, Ghostface Killah's new release brings his solo album tally to 11 – and there's two or three more due in 2015.
Ghost has plenty of company, with comic-book artist Matthew Rosenberg providing the narrative throughline and Kool G Rap, AZ, Pharoahe Monch, Kandace Springs joining him at the microphone for the story of a 21st-century hip-hop superhero returning to a troubled Staten Island.
The Revelations add splashes of vintage soul and funk to colour Ghost’s lines about the double-dealing, rival gangs and love interests that await Tony Starks back on his home turf. It all makes for a rich, widescreen canvas, with Ghost and his foils providing a sure-footed path through the intrigue.
