Ekoplekz: Unfidelity

Nick Edwards's road to his debut record for Planet Mu has been paved with well-received releases for such labels as Punch Drunk, Mordant and Editions Mego. Unfidelity is the sound of a producer who has worked long and hard to get the curves and contours just right. He hits the mark time and time again in a way that is full of bravado and brass. There's a sureness and confidence on Sea 90 , Nerva Beacon and, especially, the murky, unsteady, wobbly drone of the title track. His influences, from the tricky dub grandmasters such as King Tubby and the experimental electronic greats such as LFO, certainly play a part in setting the scene.
