The RTÉ Concert Orchestra is taking over RTÉ summer orchestral slots on Tuesdays and Fridays now that the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra is on annual leave. David Brophy conducts the first lunchtime programme which mixes popular works by Dvorak (a Slavonic Dance), Weber (Berlioz's orchestration of his Invitation to the Dance), Lehár (the Gold and Silver Waltz) and Johann Strauss II (the Emperor Waltz). The soloist is soprano Sinéad Campbell-Wallace who offers selections by Puccini, Johann Strauss II and Loewe.
