He's come a long way from punk/pop act The Blizzards, that's for sure. Niall Breslin, aka Bressie, is now one of Ireland's best-known, sought-after, muscular, tanned'n'tattooed men. As such he can sit back and bask in the glow of adulation, right? Well, not really, because – unusually, given that his face that appears in hundreds of thousands of sitting rooms each week via The Voice – Bressie brings his second solo album into areas his televisual fanbase might not be familiar with. It's a pleasant surprise when the title track references the swirling swamp-funk of Creedence Clearwater Revival, and Never Gonna Lose Its Luxury has an earthy feel reminiscent of The Band. No one could accuse him of shortchanging his new-found fanbase, either, given the inclusion of the glistening, radio-friendly pop tune Two's a Crowd . bressiemusic.com
