We like P!ink so much that we’ll excuse her over-zealous use of the exclamation mark. We also like P!nk’s so-what approach to pop music. It’s the signature of the former self-styled “punk-ass teenager”, who has been around for more than 15 years now and has had a big influence on her mainly youthful female fan base.

Despite her commercial ascent coming around the same time as Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears, P!nk has always distanced herself from the musical hype as well as avoiding the paparazzi pot-shots. Her music is sometimes too brash to be termed pop, her punk rock credentials are valid enough (via Rancid’s Tim Armstrong), and she knows how to rugby-tackle a tune into submission, all of which makes her A-OK in our book.

Plus, her no-nonsense lyrics come directly from her life. Yep, more of this kinda thing, please.
