Artist: Luke Sital-Singh
Genre: Singer / Songwriter
Label: Parlophone

Being a die-hard fan of the usual suspects (from Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen to Josh Ritter and Damien Rice, and most points in between) is something that only the best young singer-songwriters manage to transcend. For London troubadour Luke Sital-Singh, such influences are touchstones but they're also springboards – because, as one of his songwriting heroes puts it, "There's something going on here, Mr Jones". Sital-Singh is assisted throughout by Northern Irish songwriting mentor Iain Archer, who has provided constructive tips to Jake Bugg, among others. That said, there seems more than enough evidence, particularly in Sital-Singh's earlier songs (I Have Been a Fire, Fail for You), of someone who can easily leapfrog over cliché and standard-issue material to deliver one standout tune after another. lukesitalsingh.com
