Here’s a weird one. On St Stephen’s Day, North Korean television broadcast a western-made film for the first time ever. But what could it be?

The answer, somewhat surprisingly, is the Keira Knightley British kick-com Bend it Like Beckham. Unleashed to celebrate 10 years of (shaky) diplomatic ties between North Korea and the UK, Gurinder Chadha's film was edited down from 112 minutes to a rather scanty one hour.
