University of Limerick offers €20,000 Writer’s Fellowship

Writer-in-residence programme due to start in January


The University of Limerick and the Arts Council are seeking applications for their 2017 Writer's Fellowship.

The fellowship, which comes with a stipend of €20,000, begins on January 2017. This is the third year of the writer-in-residence-style programme.

The creative writing programme at UL is led by author Prof Joseph O'Connor, who is best known for his multi-award winning novel Star of the Sea. Former recipients of the fellowship include Man Booker-prize longlisted Donal Ryan.

The post involves working with students and staff at Limerick as well as potentially teaching at the UL Creative Writing Summer School in New York.

The closing date for applications is noon on August 26th, 2016. Candidates are invited to submit a cover letter outlining areas of interest, teaching experience (if any), ideas for engagement with UL's Creative Writing programme, and a full CV with three referees to the programme coordinator for creative writing, Claire Ryan, at claire.ryan@ul.ie.
