Subs: Knockranny House Hotel & Spa

To celebrate the launch of November’s Full Moon Walking Weekend, Westport’s finest four star hotel has teamed up with the Irish Times to offer one lucky subscriber the chance to win a two night stay for two people in a luxurious guest room, breakfast each morning and dinner on a night of choice in The Fern Grill.

Knockranny House Hotel & Spa is hosting a very special Full Moon Walking Weekend on November 15th and 16th.

Knockranny House Hotel is a cosy and luxurious setting to return to after a day’s adventures. The pool, sauna and steam room in gorgeous Spa Salveo at Knockranny is something to particularly look forward to in the evening too, with experienced therapists available to work any soreness or tightness out of muscles you may have forgotten you had.

The guided Mayo Full Moon Walking Weekend happening in November, will give guests the chance to experience the magic of walking by moonlight, far away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Walking in nature “by the light of the silvery moon” is something few people get to try, yet it is a sensory experience that is truly unforgettable.

The weekend at Knockranny includes a guided daytime walk on Saturday, dinner in The Fern Grill followed by stories and magic by candlelight, and a moonlit walk (weather permitting) after hours. This atmospheric guided walk will take place on forest or off-road tracks, lit by the full moon above — a ‘Supermoon’, so called when it appears slightly larger and brighter in the sky than a regular full moon.Led by local Terra Firma guides, taking you off the beaten track to explore the Wild Atlantic coastline, you’ll experience the glorious panoramic views over Clew Bay, Achill and Clare Island, and you’ll stop for a picnic lunch at a strategically sited spot, perfect for taking in the sweeping views.
