Win a pair of tickets to three Dublin Theatre Festival shows

SFTW: DTF

Dublin Theatre Festival is offering one lucky Irish Times reader the chance to win a pair of tickets to three select shows this autumn: Reunion, Find Your Eyes, and Exit, Pursued by a Bear.

The Dublin Theatre Festival returns from Thursday, September 26th to Sunday, October 13th, taking place at venues across the city. With over 30 productions, the festival features a mix of new voices and familiar faces, showcasing a wide range of Irish and international works. Themes explored include family, identity, migration, climate change, colonial legacies, conflict, and resolution.

The winner of this competition will enjoy three standout shows: Reunion, Find Your Eyes, and Exit, Pursued by a Bear.

Reunion

Following a sold-out run and five-star reviews in Galway, Landmark Productions and Galway International Arts Festival bring the highly anticipated Reunion to Dublin. Set on an island off the west coast of Ireland, the play follows a family gathering for a celebration.

Mark O’Rowe turns his laser focus on the deep currents of family life with a masterfully orchestrated story which resonates with biting humour, profound insights and extraordinary authenticity.

Reunion is that most exciting of things: a major new ensemble play, starring a roll-call of Ireland’s finest actors.

You will receive two tickets for Reunion at The Gaiety Theatre, Tuesday, October 8th at 7.30pm.

Find Your Eyes

Award-winning photographer and hip hop theatre pioneer Benji Reid blends Afro-futurist imagery with hard hitting tales from his life and adventures in a unique show that unfolds before your very eyes.

This passionate piece draws on Benji’s work both as an award-winning photographer and pioneer of hip hop theatre – bringing dancers and photography into the fold to create images in real time in front of his audience. Journeying through highs and lows, Find Your Eyes explores how we make sense of the world through our stories and our art.

“A powerful show, filled with devastating honesty and wonder.”- The Guardian

You will receive two tickets for Find Your Eyes at O’Reilly Theatre, Belvedere College, Saturday, October 12th at 7.30pm.

Exit, Pursued by a Bear

The Winter’s Tale – retold from the perspective of the Bear.

Paulina tells Leontes, “It is required you do awake your faith,” and for five acts, Shakespeare challenges his audience to be led beyond the usual limits of encounter. We rewind and watch the same scenes unfold. Perdita decides she’ll queen it no further – but can restoration or resolution take place in the dream world of Bohemia?

The answers may lie beyond language in Shakespeare’s gestures towards silence, movement, repetition and transgression of boundaries in Pan Pan’s response to The Winter’s Tale.

You will receive two tickets for Exit, Pursued by a Bear at Royal Irish Academy of Music, Friday, October 4th at 7.30pm
