Win a 12 month family pass to OPW heritage sites across Ireland

The Irish Times has teamed up with National Heritage Week to offer you one of 10 OPW Heritage Cards, granting 12 months of unlimited access for a family (two adults and up to five children aged 12-18) to OPW heritage sites nationwide.

National Heritage Week starts Saturday, August 17th, and runs through Sunday, August 25th. This year, National Heritage Week will celebrate our natural, built, and cultural heritage with the theme “Connections, Routes, and Networks,” encouraging you to explore how we connect to each other and the connections we have. There will be over 2,000 events taking place across the country, including traditional craft workshops, talks, walking tours, and much more. Explore what’s happening at heritageweek.ie.

From castles and gardens to sites of natural beauty and ancient spirituality, the Office of Public Works (OPW) offers much to the curious traveller or local explorer. The OPW manages the state’s property portfolio, including numerous iconic heritage properties, and works to maintain Ireland’s history, traditions, and culture. The organisation preserves and presents the nation’s two UNESCO World Heritage Sites, 780 National Monuments, and over 2,000 acres of gardens and parklands. Find out more about the many OPW visitor sites at: www.heritageireland.ie

For the first weekend of National Heritage Week, the OPW will offer free entry to over 48 fee-paying sites across the country (excluding Kilmainham Gaol).

National Heritage Week is a Heritage Council programme supported by the Local Authority Heritage Officer network and the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage.

The OPW is giving readers a chance to win a Family Heritage Card, granting free admission to historic heritage sites around Ireland for a whole year, valued at €90. Enjoy unlimited access to Ireland’s icons of built, natural, and cultural heritage for one year after the card’s first use. What will you discover this year?
