Xerox Europe has appointed Mr Joe Browne, a native of Westmeath and a Xerox veteran of 13 years, to the position of director and general manager of the corporation's Irish operations.

Mr Browne (34) will be responsible for Xerox's European Business Support Centre at Ballycoolin, which employs some 1,600 people, and Xerox Technology Park at Dundalk, which employs 900. Xerox Corporation is planning $1 billion (€1.16 billion) in cost cuts, and the sale of assets at the group.
