Women shut out of workforce, Itic and the 9% Vat rate, and QIH threatens legal action

Women are being shut out of the workplace by the high cost of childcare in Ireland, a study from the ESRI has found. Parents with one child aged three typically spent about 12 per cent of their disposable income on childcare. Eoin Burke-Kennedy has the details.

Quinn Industrial Holdings (QIH) says it is preparing legal action against people purporting to be supporters of the company's former owner Sean Quinn who have made critical comments about the company and its executives online. Mark Paul reports.
