Wavin Ireland has acquired the former Uniplas water main business in Portadown, Co Armagh, from the Scottish manufacturer, Mainetti. Mr Des Byrne, Wavin's managing director, says the business is a perfect fit for Wavin and will broaden the range it can offer customers.

Wavin, based mainly in Balbriggan, Co Dublin, has a turnover of £37 million (€47 million) and employs 130 people.
