The MSF trade union has said it is unacceptable that the Irish trade union movement is precluded from recruiting members at Dublin's International Financial Services Centre. In a submission made jointly with the Irish Bank Officials Association to the Government-established Strategic Review of the banking sector, the union states it should be allowed to have a presence in the IFSC, which is State-sponsored.

"It is not acceptable that massive tax breaks in corporation taxes, large-scale public investment, rates remission and expensive taxpayers' promotional spending should be lavished on the IFSC when unions are almost forbidden to enter the area."
