Twenty managers at the United Nations in New York are the first in the US to study on Open University business school courses. But they will not be the last. From May, students in areas not traditionally served by the OUBS will be able to study for the OUBS flagship certificate course, The Capable Manager, using the internet. The Gulf region, parts of Africa and the West Indies are high on the list, as well as the US. The certificate course is the first stage of an MBA degree. Advances in technology mean OUBS can now offer courses to up to 100 students outside those areas.
