The seventh annual Travel Trade News awards were presented in Dublin last night with Aer Lingus, Holiday Autos and Falcon Holidays among the winners.

More than 250 travel and tourism organisations were nominated for the awards this year, which were presented by the Minister for Public Enterprise, Ms O'Rourke.

Aer Lingus won the best Irish/European and best Transatlantic airline categories. Holiday Autos won the car hire category, Cunard won the cruise-line section, Falcon Holidays won the best major tour operator category and American Holidays won the best north American award.

The best long haul operator was Twohig Travel and British Airways won the best long haul airline award. The award for best travel insurance product went to Accident & General Insurance Services.
