Suspect device spurs disruption on Belfast-Dublin rail line

No Belfast-Portadown service but free bus running between Northern capital and Newry

Disruptions to the Dublin to Belfast rail line are continuing following the discovery of a suspect device on the tracks on Wednesday evening.

Services are not currently operating between Belfast and Portadown, but passengers can avail of free bus transfers between Newry and Belfast.

The discovery was made around 4:30pm on Wednesday, and morning commuters were experiencing delays as a result of the stoppage.

It is not known when full service will resume, and Iarnród Éireann are encouraging customers to keep up to date with its social media feeds for further developments.
