One More Thing: DAA says things are looking up

When the economy went south, so did passenger numbers going through Dublin Airport.

So it was good to see Emirates announce it is doubling its flights out of Dublin from September – a green shoot if ever there was one.

The folk at Dublin Airport Authority, who are all sky-blue thinkers, pointed out that the Emirates deal isn't the only capacity expansion pencilled in.

For example, United Airlines is going double daily this summer from Dublin; Turkish Airlines is upping capacity by 20 per cent to Istanbul from April; frequency on the Dublin-Dusseldorf is due to double under Lufthansa; while SAS is adding 11 per cent capacity to Dublin-Copenhagen.

We’ll all be rich again yet.
