Four Seasons Hotel to exit luxury chain

Dublin's Four Seasons Hotel will no longer carry the name of the luxury hotel group after its owner, London & Regional, parted ways with the Toronto based chain of the global group.

London & Regional, which is controlled by Ian and Richard Livingstone, acquired Dublin's Four Seasons in June 2011 for €15 million, a figure believed to be about a quarter of what it cost to develop the hotel.

In a statement released by the Four Seasons group today, the hotel chain said that it has reached a mutual agreement with the hotel's owner, Ballsbridge Hotel Limited, a company of which Ian Livingstone is a director, to allow the hotel to be operated under a different five-star international brand.

“Until the transition it is business as usual as employees will continue to provide the same legendary service guests have come to expect from Four Seasons,” the statement said, adding that guests will continue to be able to make reservations at the hotel through the Four Seasons group until December 31st 2014.

The 197-bed luxury hotel was built in 2001 by an 18-member consortium put together by Quinlan Private and known as the Nollaig Partnership.
