Cork Airport expects 60,000 passengers over Christmas

Number is just 60% of those who travelled over the same period pre-Covid

Cork Airport expects 60,000 passengers to pass through there in the days leading up to and after Christmas.

The estimate, covering the period from next Saturday, December 16th, to January 4th, is well ahead of the 8,787 travellers who flew in or out of Cork during the same weeks last year.

However, it is just 60 per cent of 2019’s pre-Covid total of 119,000, Cork Airport said on Tuesday.

Next Sunday – December 19th – is likely to be its busiest day for both arrivals and departure, while Sunday, January 4th, will be the busiest for post-Christmas departures.
