The Margin's "new survey" department is glad to report the following gem. Anyone called Tracey should stay well clear of a Kevin, if she wants to avoid costly claims on her motor insurance. By trawling through motor insurance claims in Britain it has emerged that women called Tracey are some of the safest drivers on the road, while Kevin, Jason, Darren and Lee are most likely to claim on their motor insurance.

Tracey would certainly make a better match with Barry, Ronald or Kenneth, particularly if she wants to keep hold of her no claims bonus, as these drivers statistically are least likely to claim on their insurance.

The safest couple on the road would be Patricia and Ronald, whom insurers would no doubt be falling over themselves to cover.

The research, conducted by direct insurers, Touchline, showed that women do not deserve to be labelled bad drivers.

Claims records show that eight out of the 10 most frequent claimants were men and it is only Claire and Deborah that let the side down for women.
