Tribe Digital takes top award at annual Spiders

Digital awards adapt to reflect industry change during Covid panedemic

Tribe Digital has scooped the top prize at the 25th annual Spiders Awards, winning the award for Large Agency of the Year.

The company was joined by Voxpro founders Dan and Linda Kiely, fintech Revolut and online ordering platform Flipdish at the awards, which were presented in Dublin’s Manion House on Thursday evening.

It was the first time the awards have been held in person since 2019, and organisers partnered Unicef to support its humanitarian efforts in Ukraine. A total of 22 awards were given out on the night, with the ceremony adapting to recognise the changes in the industry over the past couple of years and adding awards to recognise customer continuity and the efforts of remote teams.

This year's awards were based on the theme "Driving Digital, Emerging Stronger". Tribe Digital was recognised for its digital strategy across a number of campaigns in the last 12 months. Belfast-based Part Three Digitaltook the top prize in Small Agency category.

Revolut picked up the award for best app, while Squaredot Dublin was named best B2B campaign. The best in social media category went to Dublin Rape Crisis Centre, and the digital for good award was taken home by GCN (Gay Community News) Dublin.

The National Council for the Blind was named the best remote team, with Flipdish taking home the title for best customer continuity.

Voxpro founders Dan and Linda Kiely took home the “digital hero” award, recognised for their innovation and determination to succeed.

Best podcast went to the Good Glow Dublin, with diversity in digital going to Diageo. The digital transformation in enterprise award went to KBC Bank Ireland.

Tracey Carney, managing director of Spiders Awards said the event recognised excellence and the "outstanding creativity" of Ireland's digital ecosystem.

"We applaud all of you who are the driving force behind it, and who have ensured we are emerging stronger than ever, from what has been the biggest digital transformation any of us have ever seen," she said. "The digital industry in Ireland has not only survived but thrived over the last two years."
