Digital cameras have fallen out of favour a little, thanks to the cameraphone. But occasionally, you do have a need for something a little more robust. Nikon’s AW1 is a compact camera that is waterproof, shockproof, freezeproof and dustproof; in short, it can take almost anything you can throw it. The lenses are interchangeable – and also able to withstand rough handling – and can, above all, take some decent photos. The 14.2 megapixel camera has an ISO of up to 6400, making it ideal for low-light shots, and it shoots full HD movies.
