Sony SmartWatch set for wearable battle

Android powered device will go head to head with Apple Watch

€TBC Attention may all be on the Apple Watch at the moment, but it's not the only wearable tech in town. At this year's IFA exhibition, Sony unveiled the third generation of its smartwear products, the SmartWatch 3. The latest device uses Google's new wearable platform, Android Wear, and comes with 4GB of memory on board. GPS is built in, so you won't need your phone if you decide to go for a run, and it's waterproof too. Not that two things are related, mind you, but it might be a good idea to have a smartwatch that won't fail at the first sign of a bead of sweat. sony.ie
