A technical fault on the mobile network Three left some customers unable to make calls and send text messages on Friday afternoon.

A spokeswoman for the company said engineers had worked to resolve the problem but only a small number of people had been affected.

“We are aware that some customers experienced some issues making calls and sending SMS earlier today,” she said on Friday evening. “We can confirm that service is now fully restored. Three would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
