See the world from your armchair with Google’s street level VR

Last November Google introduced Google Earth VR to the masses, bringing a virtual reality element to armchair globetrotting. The latest update incorporates Street View imagery from 85 countries around the world for street level exploration through VR headsets. This essentially allows the viewer to enter immersive 360-degree photographs wherever they are available, be they provided by Google or uploaded and shared by other users.

While this full experience is only available for the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift headsets, it also works with smartphones if used in conjunction with Google's budget-friendly Cardboard viewer or the slightly pricier (€99.99) Daydream via the standalone Street View app – which is now within Google Earth VR.

Highlights include Old Port Dubrovnik in Croatia, which is a must for Game of Thrones fans because it serves as King's Landing in Westeros.
