Over half of Irish tech professionals contacted over jobs each week

Study finds many IT staff open to changing roles, particularly to join start-ups

More than three-quarters of senior Irish tech professionals say they have been canvassed by recruitment specialists about employment opportunities in recent months, with over half saying they are being sounded out for new jobs on a weekly basis.

A new survey of 3,000 IT professionals by Verify Recruitment conducted last month found that unsolicited approaches may be worthwhile. Ninety per cent of respondents said they would consider a job move over the next two years and some 38 per cent say they are open to switching roles during the next six months.

Around 68 per cent of tech professionals said they would prefer to join a start-up offering new technologies or “interesting” responsibilities, rather than an established firm.

Over three-quarters of those surveyed said they had the option to work remotely with their current employer, with 32 per cent allowed to do so on a full-time basis should they wish.
