LinkedIn appoints ex-Dell Ireland head to new role

LinkedIn has appointed Dell’s former general manager for Ireland, Liam Halpin, as its head of sales solutions for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Mr Halpin, an industry veteran who has also previously held senior roles with PFH Technology Group and Fujitsu Siemens, was until recently, Dell’s executive director for Western Europe and the Russia/CIS region.

In his new role, Mr Halpin will lead LinkedIn’s sales solutions business, whose customers include EY, Oracle, SAP, Vodafone and Microsoft.

“The way in which businesses effectively engage their customers has changed with the rise of social media. LinkedIn is at the forefront of enabling more businesses to effectively build relationships with new customers through social selling,” he said.

“ I’m very excited to help them make their organisations more successful, and build upon the great work already being done in EMEA.”

Mr Halpin will start his new role in LinkedIn’s international headquarters in Dublin in July.
