Fisheye selfie anyone? Review: Olloclip unleashes iPhone camera creativity

Four-in-one lens system offers fisheye, macro and wide-angle lens options

Feel like unleashing your cameraphone creativity? The Olloclip is just the gadget to help. It's a four-in-one lens system with a wide-angle lens, a telephoto option and two macro lenses all in one clip-on lens.

The version of the Olloclip reviewed here will fit both the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus, but there are also Olloclips for Samsung Galaxy S4 and S5 smartphones, the iPad and every iPhone as far back as the iPhone 4.

It’s easy to use. The Olloclip snaps on over the camera lens. On one side, it’s a macro lens, on the other a telephoto. Screw off both and the macro options are underneath. The redesigned version knows that people will use the lens for the front-facing camera too – fisheye selfies, anyone? With the iPhone 6 Plus you have to slide the lens across slightly, but it’s nothing major. The macro lens works well, picking up incredible detail.

A word of warning though: it won’t work if you need a flash, as the clip covers the iPhone flash.

Also, if you have a screen protector on your phone, be careful when sliding the lens on as it can inadvertently lift the plastic sheet from your screen if the positioning of either item is a little off.
